Trigon

Trigon is a pendant lamp made of anodized aluminium. The essential part of the design is a script which uses triangulation to divide the surface into facets. Segments are laser cut and folded to form two parts - a reflector and an outer shell. Together they build a rigid body which hides the connecting rivets on its inside. Although its volume suggests heavy weight, the body is very light due to the low thickness of the material. See Trigon at DMY Berlin 2013 - New Talents.

Trigon ist eine Pendelleuchte aus eloxiertem Aluminium. Kern des Entwurfs ist ein parametrisches Script, welches das starre Aluminium gefügig macht. Triangulierte Segmente werden in Aluminium Laser-geschnitten, gefaltet und über Laschen vernietet. So entstehen zwei Elemente - der Reflektor und die Außenhülle. Beide ergänzen sich zu einem stabilen Volumenkörper welcher in seinem Inneren Laschen und Nieten verbirgt. Obwohl das Volumen ein hohes Gewicht vermuten lässt, bleibt der Körper auf Grund der geringen Materialstärke leicht.
